The Kahawai Point Coastal Classic

Run the coast. Feel the community.

Sunday 4th October 2026

Some events are just fun. This one is something more. The Kahawai Point Coastal Classic is a community run with a purpose — to celebrate the coast, the people who live here, and the lifestyle that makes this corner of New Zealand genuinely special.

WHAT IT IS

An 8km coastal run and walk set against the stunning backdrop of Kahawai Point and Glenbrook Beach. The course winds through one of New Zealand’s most beautiful coastal landscapes — headland views, native bush and the kind of scenery that makes you stop, even mid-race, and feel lucky to be here.

WHO IT IS FOR

Everyone. Serious runners chasing a competitive time. Families out for a Sunday morning together. First-timers who have never entered a race in their life. The Coastal Classic is designed to welcome all of them — and to send them home with a story worth telling.

WHY IT MATTERS

Great communities are not just built from houses and roads. They are built from shared experiences — the moments that give a place its identity and its people a sense of belonging. The Coastal Classic is one of those moments.

This is the inaugural edition. The first chapter of what we intend to make an annual fixture — an event that grows in scale and reputation, that people plan their calendar around, and that becomes genuinely synonymous with the Kahawai Point name.

THE ANNUAL TEE
